Mark Waid

Mark Waid at OzCon 4.

Mark Waid is one of comics well known creators. Known for his encyclopaedic knowledge of comic history, he became an invaluable asset at DC Comics where he edited numerous books through the late 80s. In the early 90s he had moved to writing comics and it was his run on The Flash that garnered huge fan cred. His 8 year stint on the title developed the Speed Force mythology that is still used today.

His work with Alex Ross in 1996 creating the Eisner award winning KINGDOM COME limited series showed the possible apocalyptic future of the DC universe.

In 2002 Mark re-imagined Superman's history with his Secret Identity maxi-series. At Marvel Comics he had runs on both Captain America and the Fantastic Four. In 2007 he became Editor-in-Chief at BOOM! where he is developing creator owned titles such as Irredeemable.

Mark appeared as featured guest at OZCON 4 in 1995.
