KOTOBUKIYA Statue Round up!

KOTOBUKIYA Statue Round up!

So Kingsters you've got an eyeful of Bowen, now your eyes are going to do that thing that anime characters do when they're excited, you know the thing I mean right? 'Course you do, you guys are smart. Well here we go! Kotobukiya Japan has some happy good fun time now statues for you crazy kids to peep at!

This round we have two, not one, but TWO awesome Batman statues. TWO! You better get your wallets padded for both of these! The first is the ARTFX Statue Inspired by the magnificent art of Jim Lee in the seminal 2002 "Hush"  storyline pitting Batman against some of his most diabolical enemies. With his battle-tattered cape swirling menacingly around him, Batman strikes an intimidating pose designed to strike fear into the hearts of the evil doers of Gotham City, or you know, your desk. Standing at 11" Bats will be released sometime around September.

The Second of the two Bat Statues this week is my personal favourite, ripped from my favourite book, straight from my favourite panel. Frank Miller's masterpiece, The Dark Knight Returns! A four-issue miniseries released in 1986, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns tells the tale of a future world in which superheroes have retired. An older, angrier Bruce Wayne puts on the costume once again to save Gotham City and in the process encounters one of his most hated enemies, the Joker! Inspired by Miller's gritty style, the duo presents a dark, dynamic vision that'll look great on your shelf. Striking a mean figure at 12" you can have Batman beating the Joker senseless around September.

Next up we have The Avengers Iron Man Mark VII ARTFX Statue. A beautiful piece, standing at 16", on a war torn shattered base, the incredible statue comes equipped with a three-mode LED chest light-up feature: Off, Continuous On, and triggered by the built-in motion detector! Iron Man's eyes also feature continuous LED lighting in both modes.

The Avengers has just pulled in an amazing $1 billion dollars (Disney could nearly afford their own Iron Man suit!) so make sure you get in quick for this piece as it will sell out faster than a billionaire, playboy, philanthropist at mach 4!

Get some knowledge! Iron Man was a vehicle for Stan Lee to explore Cold War themes, particularly the role of American technology and business in the fight against communism. Subsequent re-imaginings of Iron Man have transitioned from Cold War themes to contemporary concerns, such as corporate crime and terrorism, even tackling topics like substance abuse. Iron Man will be available sometime this September. Stay Locked on!

Also on Kotobukiya's list this time around. The Amazing Spider-Man: Unleashed Fine Art Statue. Seemingly floating in mid-air, the web-slinging hero is cunningly attached to the highly detailed column of his base. The white marble look of the column is the perfect counterpoint to Spider-Man's brightly coloured outfit, really making it pop! Crafted by master sculptor Erick Sosa, the Amazing Spider-Man is slightly over 7 inches tall.

In 1962 Stan Lee created the character of Spider-Man, the teen aged Peter Parker was granted extraordinary powers by the bite of a radioactive spider.  Spider-Man has gone on to be one of the most popular and well known characters from the comic book world. Spawning countless movies, tv shows, spin-off books, and merchandise. This year we will be celebrating 50 years of the Web Head, and we have a new movie, as well as the much anticipated Spider-Men to look out for. This piece will swing into stores sometime around September.
Make sure you stay up to date on the "web" (see what I did there?) via our Facebook and Twitter, as well as right here!

The Last statue from Kotobukiya this week is a Classic Fine Art Statue of Captain America. The First Avenger stands at 15" on a rocky base, with his iconic shield in hand. His base matches those on the other Classic Avengers, the previously released Thor.

From humble beginnings as a physically weak young man, Steve Rogers attempted to join the United States military service to combat the threat in Europe. Recruited into a secret "Super-Soldier" program, Rogers was given a serum and radiation that transformed him into a paragon of human athleticism

Again, make sure you're in quick for this one as it's sure to go at super soldier speed!

That's it this time 'round from Kotobukiya, make sure you jump online soon or add these to your standing order to guarantee you don't miss out!
