Green Lantern Vol5 #11

Green Lantern Vol5 #11

"I'm going to murder as many people as I can...then raise them from the ground."

The last few issues of Green Lantern have had Sinestro and Hal Jordan discovering the mysteries of the Indigo Tribe. It's been fun sure, but it's lacked something. I think that "something" has been found. Since the new 52 relaunch Sinestro and Hal haven't had a huge, all out brawl. But now they are facing a definitive bad guy. Someone they can really sink their rings into.

Last issue ended with Black Hand taking a nose dive without his ring rather than become an Indigo Lantern once again. Now he's back with his Black Lantern ring and a plan to resurrect his family, eat Chinese food, and destroy the world. While Black Hand gallivants in graveyards Hal and Sinestro are tracking down The Book of the Black. We also get to visit Sinestro's "Bat-Cave". Which gives us a small insight into more of Sinestro's past.

Geoff Johns continues his regular buddy cop dynamic in this issue, but tosses us a curve ball with what could be a look into the future. As Sinestro opens The Book of the Black, it reveals Guy Gardner and John Stewart in some ominous situations, a possible new lantern who carries a gun, a Red Lantern that looks very similar to Hal Jordan, and Atrocitus leading an army of Manhunters.

Johns and Mahnke offer up a great Green Lantern issue this month, with enough hints at what's to come than a fan could shake his ring at. We also get some of Doug Mahnke's best art so far (especially on the aforementioned page of the future). Definitely a series to keep your eye on.
